Learn Who We Are

  • Eva H
    Registered Veterinary Technician

Eva graduated from Fairview College (AB) in 2011, she grew up in Germany and considers herself lucky to be able to work, live and play in the Okanagan now. She has a passion for the outdoors and animals, domestic or wild, furred, feathered or finned… With a scientific background in ecosystem management, Eva enjoys working in the laboratory and doesn't miss much under the microscope!

In her spare time, Eva can be found teaching yoga and meditation, exploring new trails on horseback and nurturing her garden like she does your pet - with attention to the small details.

  • Dr. Steve Wilson
    Veterinarian

Dr. Wilson obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University in 1993 and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.

Dr. Wilson enjoys general practice because of the diversity of cases he sees and the clients he gets to meet. One aspect Dr. Wilson finds particularly rewarding is providing relief from arthritis pain in his geriatric patients. There are so many  treatment options available that Dr. Wilson believes there is no excuse for these pets to suffer daily from this very common affliction.

Dr. Wilson enjoys spending his free time with his three children and new puppy Jack.

  • Ciara M
    Veterinary Assistant

Ciara recently completed the veterinary assistant program at the Center for Arts and Technology. Since working in the field her love for animals has increased significantly.

  • Paytyn H
    Verterinary Assistant

'I just want to drink coffee, save animals and take naps.'

Paytyn was born in Calgary, Alberta. She was raised in sunny Kelowna, BC where she completed her veterinary assistant program at The Center for Arts and Technology in 2018. She is lucky enough to be called 'Mom' by her daughter River, two cats (Charlie and Garfield) and her dog Ava a Shepherd/Husky cross. Growing up I feel as though a career in the veterinary industry was talked about much less than becoming a doctor, nurse, lawyer etc. I really hope to see the veterinary field get more exposure and to see more and more young, newly graduated people joining the profession! I hope to inspire more people to join such an amazing career. Who wouldn't be happy working with cute animals all day!

  • Xiola W
    Veterinary Assistant

Xiola moved to Kelowna when she was 10. She grew up on a farm most of her life and has always wanted to work with animals. Xiola graduated from The Center for Arts and Technology in 2022. She has a 4 year old Labrador Retriever named Leo who is her baby. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, rollerblading and skiing.

  • Kassia H
    Veterinary Assistant

Kassia has had the dream of becoming a vet since she was 3 years old. She has been working in vet clinics since 2013. She moved from the lower mainland to the Okanagan to study general sciences at UBC. She is now studying veterinary medicine in Europe and plans to practice in Kelowna when she graduates. On the weekends, she enjoys doing wine tastings or going to the lake with her big pup, Benson.
