Meet Our Team

Dr. Steve Wilson, DVM

Veterinarian

Our fearless leader, Dr. Wilson is the proud owner of Lakeshore Animal Clinic. With 25+ years of experience in all aspects of veterinary care, he proudly upholds our mission statement: ‘Caring for pets and their people with skill and compassion’. Dr. Wilson thrives in the dynamic realm of general practice with its wide range of cases. His true reward lies in providing relief to his geriatric patients and helping alleviate pet allergy symptoms which are so prevalent now a day. Dr. Wilson also embraces his love for reading, indulges in exhilarating dirt-biking adventures, and cherishes every opportunity to immerse himself in the great outdoors with his family. With Dr. Wilson’s commitment, skill, and compassion setting the standard for the highest quality of veterinary services, you can entrust your furry companions with us, knowing that they are in the care of a true advocate for their well-being.

Debbie

General Manager

The dynamic force behind our clinic operations, Debbie shares an impressive 30-year career in corporate management. With her expertise in HR, technology, and financial operations, she ensures that our clinic runs like a well-oiled machine. She’s not just about crunching numbers and managing logistics. Her favorite part of the day is putting patients and parents at ease with her warm and welcoming nature. With Debbie at the helm, her wealth of experience, dedication, and love for our furry friends ensure we continue to provide the outstanding care and attention our patients and their owners have come to expect.

Maria

Animal Health Technician

Meet Maria, our Technician with the love, expertise and dedication to ensure top-notch care for our furry patients. A true animal lover, Maria shares her home with canine companions Ashley and Ophelia. She enjoys spin class and outdoor adventures with her dynamic duo.

Dr. Ellis Flora, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Ellis Flora joined the Kelowna community and the Lakeshore Animal Clinic team in August 2025. She’s been caring for pets since 2013 and is passionate about building long-term relationships with both pets and the people who love them. Her special interests include dentistry, cancer surgery, complex internal medicine, and feline medicine. After working with Dr. Flora since the summer of 2025, we’ve come to appreciate her attention to detail, calm demeanor, and genuine compassion. She takes the time to listen, explain treatment options, and help families understand what’s best for their pets. Born and raised in interior Alaska, Dr. Flora is right at home outdoors—skiing, rock climbing, hiking, or paddle boarding. She and her wife share their home with three senior Chihuahuas, proof of her endless patience, great sense of humour, and very soft spot for spirited little dogs!

Ella

Animal Health Technician

Originally from the UK, Ella made the big move to Kelowna in April 2026 and is excited to experience everything Canadian — and especially Okanagan — life has to offer. Ella holds a degree in Veterinary Nursing and has a particular interest in anesthesia. She loves the complexity of it and the fact that no two patients or procedures are exactly alike, making every case an opportunity to think, adapt, and provide individualized care. Outside of work, Ella loves hiking and spending time outdoors, so we think she’s landed in a pretty great place! She’s looking forward to exploring the Okanagan, although the hardest part about moving across the pond was leaving her beloved guinea pigs back in the UK. They are very much missed — but Kelowna’s hiking trails are doing their best to ease the homesickness.

Kat

Veterinary Assistant

Kat brings 7 years of veterinary assisting experience to the L.A.C. team. She’s especially passionate about preventative care, with a particular interest in dental health and keeping pets comfortable and mobile through proactive joint care. Outside the clinic, Kat is happiest when she’s outdoors. She loves camping and hiking, especially when her adventure buddy, Cashew, gets to come along. At home, Cashew shares the spotlight with Kat’s two cats, Ava and Chloe — who presumably have very different opinions about being invited on camping trips. With plenty of hands-on experience, a love of animals, and a soft spot for keeping pets feeling their best at every stage of life, Kat is a wonderful part of our Lakeshore team.

Kristina

Veterinary Assistant

Kristina joined the L.A.C. team as a Kennel Attendant after relocating from Vancouver in March 2026. She quickly proved herself to be a valuable part of our team with her ability to learn quickly, stay organized and tackle whatever needs to get done. A recent graduate of the Veterinary Assistant program at Sprott Shaw College, Kristina is now putting her education into practice and taking on more responsibilities throughout the clinic. She’s efficient, task-oriented and eager to learn, and we’re thrilled to watch her continue to grow and reach her full potential as a Veterinary Assistant.

Michelle

Veterinary Receptionist

Michelle joined Lakeshore in October 2025 after moving to Kelowna from Canmore, Alberta, bringing with her 10 years of experience in the veterinary field. Around here, “Veterinary Receptionist” is only her official title — clients have also dubbed her The Scheduling Wizard, The Miracle Worker, and, on particularly challenging days, Saint Michelle. You’ll never hear any of that from Michelle herself though — she’s far too modest! Behind the front desk, Michelle is a fierce advocate for her patients and always works to find a way to help. She has an especially soft spot for the big, tough breeds — Pit Bulls and Rottweilers included — as well as high-stress patients who simply need a little more patience, understanding and care. When she’s not working miracles with the schedule, Michelle loves to travel and explore new places — although we’re pretty happy her latest adventure brought her to Kelowna and the Lakeshore team.
